Dear Editor:
I am not sure who could mess it up better, some weeks it's the MTA, the cable company, the meter maid but this week it's the "Board of Elections."
Last year my neighbor who is registered appeared to vote and was told his name was not on the list. His name HAD been on the list and suddenly it wasn't on this one and he was turned away. This year he turns up on an "inactive" list. What the heck is an inactive list the fact that he didn't vote last year? So feeling a panic attack coming on I opted to review the lists.
And I came upon a name of someone who sold her house and the new family votes from that address, a house they bought maybe 12 years ago or more and this name was never removed or even moved to the famed "INACTIVE" LIST. It's clear this person has not voted. Please God don't let me find out that she has been voting, my heart cannot take it.
And then found a name of a person who I sat with at a wedding where the married couples child is in college. The people are now living, if you can call it living in Florida. I expected this is a good candidate for the "INACTIVE LIST" But No.
I then found a name of a person who married a golfer, not a beacher and had to sell. The new owners did three or four years so they weren't there long enough to meet and it's a good thing I didn't get too close cause they up and sold. The next new family is in residence maybe two or three years, I am not sure I should get too close lest they decide to sell too. But I want to say that my friend who is playing golf somewhere never got moved to the "INACTIVE LIST". Maybe golf doesn't make you inactive.
I sure don't want those Board of Elections people fired, cause I never want them working for me.
