As you know, I am running for Village Trustee this June. By any measure—background, experience, knowledge of the Village—I am well qualified for the job. And, I have a vision of Ocean Beach that I want for my grandchildren. I want and will work for a safer, cleaner, quieter village, in which homeowners and business owners alike contribute their fair share. I will work to make the Village's budget process precise, clearer, and more informative not only to Village personnel, but also to tax payers who want to know where the Village's money comes from and how it is spent. And finally, I will work to find new solutions for managing our aging infrastructure without imposing detrimental tax increases. I want my grandchildren to be proud of their village, and to be able to afford to live here.

I have a long record of being active on behalf of our village. For example, I currently represent Ocean Beach on the Board of the Fire Island Association, and have worked hard with FIA and our Village government to ensure that we will be able to protect and re-nourish our beach in the years to come. Recently, I was appointed to the Village Planning/Architectural Review Board as an alternate member. And these are just a few of my contributions to Village life.

In a short letter, I can't tell my whole story, but by temperament and long experience, I am a consensus builder, one who often has been able to bring disparate points of view together. And, I pledge always to do my level best for the best Ocean Beach, for now and the future.
