Ocean Beach PD: Bar fights and blaring beats

May 22:
2:45 p.m.  Officer Becher issued a summons to the owner of a green golf card at the corner of Bay Walk and the freight dock as it was parking during restricted hours.

May 23:
2:58 a.m.  There was a reported disturbance in front of Castaways on Bay Walk. Officers responded.

May 24:
9:55 a.m. There was a third degree grand larceny reported at 383 Surf Road. The complaintant reported a missing diamond wedding band.

May 27:
8:29 a.m. An Island Mermaid employee received treatment for burns he received on his face while lighting a grill.

May 28:
2:30 p.m. A noise complaint was reported by a Wilmot Road resident regarding loud music at an Ocean Road house.

May 29:
3:15 a.m. Officer Clemens cited I. Zahar of 32 Frigate Road in Corneille Estates for unreasonable noise.
4 a.m. Police responded to an alarm at the Palms Bay Hotel and arrested E. Buchman, S. Kambling and J. Alfano for disorderly conduct and having an open flame.
6:25 a.m. There was a call in complaint of a man banging on doors.  B. Flood was issued a summons for disorderly conduct.
12:24 p.m. Suffolk Command reported an emergency at a home on Surfview Walk. The Ocean Beach Fire Department responded promptly.

May 30:
12:40 a.m. There was a patrol pickup of a disturbance in front of the Sand Bar.
3 a.m. A patrol pickup reported criminal mischief at the water fountain at Cottage Walk and Ocean Road. A message was left for the water Department.
11 a.m. G. Silverman reported harassment.
1:55 p.m. K. Roes reported a wire down at 321 Wilmot Road.
2:50 p.m. There were multiple reports of a woman running down Wilmot Road yelling for help.  Officers reported a child had a head injury at Wilmot Road and Midway Walk. Fire Command and Ocean Beach Fire/Rescue were notified.
8:25 p.m. Officer Battista reported details of a criminal mischief at a home on Cottage Walk.
10:51 p.m. Officers responded a dispute among patrons at the Castaways.

May 31:
2:55 p.m. M. Schwartz reported eight people causing a disturbance on the beach at Bayberry Walk. One person was arrested and later released.
3:10 p.m. At the marina, a person accidentally received a fish hook to the head. Ocean Beach Rescue responded and the injured person was transported by SCPD Marine Juliet.

June 4:
12:50 p.m.  An anonymous caller reported a young woman drinking wine on the beach at Wilmot Road. She later called back and reported someone told the woman drinking wine on the beach wasn’t allowed in Ocean Beach and she had left the area. She requested the police disregard the call.
3:05 p.m. L. Wagner reported a neighbor dispute on Dehnhoff Walk.
5:55 p.m. A report of a hazardous material spill at a Wilmot Walk home. DPW was called and responded to the leaking sewer pipe.

June 8:
9:45 a.m. A downed power line was reported to LIPA on Bayberry Walk.
10:05 p.m. An Island Mermaid employee reported the smell of gas.  Ocean Beach Fire Department responded.

June 10:
8:03 a.m. An anonymous caller stated he needed stitches for a cut but refused medical assistance.

June 12:
12:05 a.m. M. Walker was issued a summons for excess noise at his Ocean Breeze Walk home.
8:40 a.m. A Seaview man reported finding a bicycle with an Ocean Beach Police Department sticker on it in front of his Surfview Walk home. Bike returned to owner.
2:20 p.m. A man reported the theft of a bicycle from his Surfview Walk home.
9:35 p.m. Possible trespassing reported at a Bungalow Walk home.
9:43 p.m. A Plainview man was issued a summons for not having a rental permit.
10:15 p.m. K. Loeffler reported she lost her child, J. Taylor.

June 13:
11:20 a.m. A contractor was issued a summons for violating a restriction barring construction on a Sunday.
7:20 p.m. A barking dog was reported at a Wilmot Walk home.
8:50 p.m. An officer assisted three intoxicated individuals behind Island Mermaid.

June 15:
4:45 p.m. A man who reported missing was found at Maguire’s.

June 18:
10:35 p.m. Lauren Levine was issued a summons for a noise violation.

June 19:
2:58 p.m. A propane leak was reported at the Ocean Beach Hardware Store.
5:30 p.m. Officers mediated a neighbor dispute on Dehnhoff Walk.
10:40 p.m. A summons was issued for a noise violation on Dehnhoff Walk.
10:45 p.m. The owner of the Sandbar was issued summons for noise.
11:50 p.m. Elizabeth Short of Ridgewood, N.Y., was issued a summons for indecent exposure.

June 24:
8:20 a.m. Criminal mischief to property was reported at a Cottage Walk home.

June 25:
3:45 p.m. A property dispute was reported on Surf Road.
9:37 p.m. A man at an Ocean Breeze Walk home was issued a summons for noise.

June 26:
12:30 a.m. Criminal mischief was reported in the Community House bathroom.
5:15 a.m. A suspect was released on $150 stationhouse bail after being arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance and trespassing.
9:10 a.m. A summons was issued for a garbage violation on Bayberry Walk.
10:35 a.m. A contractor was issued a summons for a construction violation.

Summary:
In addition to these incidents, Ocean Beach police officers received reports of one missing child, wallet, one missing tricycle medical permit, one report of an open door, three reports of larceny, three stolen wagons, a missing cell phone and camera, five stolen bicycles, two stolen handbags, seven disturbances and nine injuries. Items found include one wagon, five wallets, three handbags, one bicycle and a watch. Officers issued summonses for summer permit on a vehicle, operating vehicle during restricted hours, nine garbage violations, and two cases of illegal docking, two cart violations, 24 cases of public urination and 57 open alcoholic beverages. They responded to 13 noise complaints that did not result in a summons and aided nine people.
