July 22

2:20 p.m. A fire behind Ocean Beach Hardware on Bayberry Walk was reported. Officers responded and fire department was notified.

5:52 p.m. T. Selkink reported a missing 81-year-old woman from the Ocean Beach ferry terminal.

6:15 p.m. Officers located the previously reported missing woman at her residence in Robbins Rest.

7:47 p.m. A navigation accident was reported at the Ocean Beach transient marina. Officers responded.

11 p.m. A disturbance between two women outside the Sand Bar was reported.

July 23

1:30 a.m. Officers responded to an intoxicated woman across from the fire house.

3:10 p.m. J. Randazzo reported arching wires behind the Palms cottages on Cottage Walk.

4:07 p.m. An anonymous woman reported a boat docking in the bay in the vicinity of 2 Ocean Road.

8:15 p.m. J. Tallum reported illegal dockers at the marina.

 

July 24

3:39 a.m. Officer Bacon responded to a report of an intoxicated man attempting to drive a boat.

6:55 a.m. Officer Bacon then issued a summons to Russell Altman of Boulder, Colo., for temporary inhibition.

5 p.m. A boat accident at the Palms East Hotel's dock was reported.

 

July 26

10:30 a.m. Officer Shore issued a summons to Carin Roth for improper disposal of household garbage.

11:50 p.m. An anonymous neighbor of 993 Surf View Walk reported a loud noise, thinking it was a possible burglary.

 

July 27

7:05 p.m. An anonymous woman reported her dryer was on fire at 503 Bayberry Walk. Officers responded.

 

July 29

1:20 a.m. Officers responded to a report of a stolen surf board at the Sand Bar.

 

July 30

2:05 a.m. Officer Zois issued a summons to Timothy Mauro for possession of marijuana.

2:40 a.m. Officers received a report of people swimming at the beach.

4:35 a.m. A walk-in complainant reported a missing 24-year-old woman who was last seen by Houser's Bar.

5:26 a.m. Dispatcher Marino followed up and reported that the above missing woman was found on Atlantique beach and returned to her home in Robbins Rest.

5:40 p.m. R. Groen reported an odor of propane gas at 289 Cottage Walk. Officers responded.

9:56 p.m. Officer Brennan issued a summons to Jeffrey Verde of East Islip for attempting to purchase alcohol by fraudulent means.

11:30 p.m. N. Lane reported that D. Bergin was menacing him in the third degree.

 

July 31

1:04 a.m. A possible break-in was reported at 496 Bayberry Walk. The complainant, T. Fisherman, refused to make a report.

10:37 a.m. P. Streach reported a baby deer stuck was stuck in the fence at Surfview Walk vicinity of Conizad's Plumbing. Officers responded and reported that the deer freed itself. No further action required.

11 a.m. A man named Brandon reported picnicking on the beach at Wilmot Road.

6:40 p.m. Two intoxicated women who were swimming in the ocean appeared to be in distress.

8:35 p.m. A customer dispute at Matthew's was reported. Officers respond.

11 p.m. A disturbance with a prior trespasser at CJ's was reported. Officer Clemmons issued a summons to Erik M. Johnson for trespassing.

 

Aug. 1

12:34 a.m. Officers Tominelli and Massoroni assisted in a search by Suffolk County Police Department Aviation 3 of a white male, six feet tall with a black shirt for burglary and sexual assault.

1:14 a.m. A woman stated she noticed her door was open and lights were on.

 

Aug. 5

2:10 a.m. A walk-in complainant reported a verbal dispute in front of Michael's Ristorante. Officers responded.

10:44 a.m. Doctor Liametz requested EMS for a 6-year-old patient at the Doctor's Office on Bayberry Walk. OBFD Rescue was notified.

11:30 a.m. Officers Shore and Dobies reported a possible exposure to meningitis while at the scene of an aided case at the Doctor's Office at Bayberry walk.

2:55 p.m. Dockmaster Randolph Clark reported a boat incident at the Ocean Beach Marina.

11:54 p.m. All units were assigned to a report of a missing 15-year-old girl.

 

Aug. 6

11:13 p.m. P. Brennan reported a subject was attempting to climb the Ocean Beach water tower.

11:20 p.m. Officer Brennan issued a summons to Michael S. Lessing for attempting to purchase alcohol with a fake ID.

 

Aug. 7

12:15 a.m. Officers responded to a customer dispute at Ocean Beach Trading.

 

Aug. 8

1:04 a.m. A possum running loose at the Sand Bar was reported.

11:55 a.m. Officer Dobies issued a summons to Alison Zimmerman for having an unleashed dog.

 

Aug. 9

12:52 p.m. Officers assisted Suffolk Marine Juliet and Suffolk Air Bureau with a mutual aid call from a boating accident. There was a person in the water with a dislocated shoulder and the U.S. Coast Guard and Ocean Beach Rescue were on the scene.

9 p.m. Officers responded to a residential fire alarm at Surf View Walk with an open door and carbon dioxide alarm. Fire fighters were notified.

9:55 p.m. Three 16-year-old girls were taken into custody for alleged larceny at Town Pizza. They were released to one of their parents on $250 bail each.

 

Aug. 10

4:14 p.m. An anonymous caller reported people drinking alcohol at the Ocean Breeze Walk overpass.

 

Aug. 11

12:59 a.m. A woman reported a noise complaint around 305 Cottage Walk. Two subsequent noise complaints were made at 2:25 a.m. and 3:20 a.m.

10:42 p.m. A possible domestic disturbance at Midway and Wilmot Road was reported.

11:27 p.m. Officers received a report of youths ringing the doorbell at 29 Bungalow Walk and then running away.

 

Aug. 12

6:15 p.m. Officers responded to a report of a lost child.

 

Aug. 13

2:54 a.m. A disturbance was reported outside Town Pizza.

10 a.m. Officer responded to an odor of gas at 377 Dehnhoff Walk.

10:45 a.m. Officer Shore reported a 911 hang up at 390 Surf Road.

11:40 p.m. An anonymous caller reported an illegally docked boat near the garbage drop-off site on Surf View and Bay Walks.

 

Aug. 14

12:06 a.m. D. Simpson of 708 Ocean View Walk reported a large group of youths on the Ocean Breeze Walk overpass. Officers responded.

 

Aug. 15

10:10 a.m. A dispute between a homeowner and a home health aide at 72 Ocean Road was reported. The dispute was resolved and no further action was required.

 

Aug. 16

8:50 a.m. A complainant reported that cleaning staff said that two "teenagers" were observed in a home at 197 Wilmot Walk. Subjects fled the scene, and nothing was taken from the home.

 

Aug. 17

2:16 p.m. An oven fire at 354 Dehnhoff Walk was reported. Firefighters responded, but it was found to be a false alarm.

 

Aug. 18

11:15 p.m. Officer Mkwanzi issued summonses to Kim Duffy, Stefanie Lima and Casey M. Cullen for possessing a fake ID. Officer Muller issued a summons to Drew Crawley, Desmond P. McCarthy and John Denave for possessing a fake ID.

 

Aug. 20

11:43 a.m. A woman reported a large group of people on the beach between Ocean Breeze and Evergreen Walks setting up a picnic table.

12:25 p.m. K. Silver reported continued harassment by an unknown person.

3:54 p.m. A report of a loud domestic disturbance at the Bayberry overpass and the beach was reported.

9:14 p.m. E. Rosahwalk made a noise complaint, noise was from an air conditioner outside her bedroom.

 

Aug. 21

9:10 p.m. An anonymous complainant reported an intoxicated woman with children fell down with a child.

 

Aug. 22

2 p.m. Officer Becher issued a summons to Marci Schenider for renting without a valid permit.

 

Aug. 23

10:20 a.m. Two complaints of criminal mischief on a wagon in the wagon park by an unknown person within the last three weeks were reported.

2:22 p.m. A 12-year old from Cottage Walk in Ocean Beach was reported missing. Officer Shore returned the child from the Seaview/Ocean Beach line.

 

Aug. 26

8 a.m. A voluntary evacuation order in advance of Hurricane Irene is in effect.

11:21 a.m. R. Aguilera reported an incident including a dog ripping his clothing. Officers responded.

 

In addition to the above there were 55 noise complaints, 39 reported injuries, 32 items reported lost and stolen, 30 bike violations, 24 items found and returned, 17 disturbances, 16 open container violations, 14 violations for urinating in public, 10 fire alarms, six garbage violations, six violations of eating on the beach, six illegal docking violations, four restaurant signage violations, three reports of trespassing, two violations of drinking alcohol on the beach, two reports of unconscious woman on bathroom floors, two cart violations, two reports of littering, one underage drinker, one public intoxication and one case of harassment.
